Koko’s string design is another popular design work presented by Audrey Napanangka. Audrey is almost an household name in the patchwork and quilting world. Her x-ray visioned idea, pictured uniquely the outer shell of a coconut and artistically presented the design to the quilters and art lovers. Innovative quilters and patch workers immediately welcomed the new challenge. It is hard to imagine how popular Audrey and her Koko’s String design have become.
 
 The Artist is Audrey Martin Napanangka: Audrey is a Warlpiri (language) woman born in 1952 in Yuendumu Community (country), approximately 3 hours North West of Alice Springs in Central Australia. Audrey has lived her whole life in Yuendumu, attending primary school, and later raising her own family in Yuendumu. Audrey is a well-respected senior artist and learnt her skills from Netta Williams Napanangka (a well-known Warlpiri artist).
