Unlike many other variety of lizards it does not regrow lost limbs or tails. The Goanna is predatory and and scavenging in behaviour There are 25 species of Goanna found in Australia. The Goanna features largely in Aboriginal mythology and dreamtime stories and is frequently featured in their art and in symbolic spiritual motifs. The Goanna is also an Aboriginal food.
